MEGO: The Toy Company That Shaped Pop Culture

In the 1970s, MEGO revolutionized the toy industry with its 8-inch action figures, bringing superheroes, TV icons, and film characters straight into kids’ hands. From “Batman” and “Spider-Man” to “Star Trek” and “Planet of the Apes,” MEGO’s bold licensing strategy transformed toys into cultural collectibles. Their “World’s Greatest Super Heroes” line became a phenomenon, cementing MEGO as a pioneer in pop-culture merchandising.
